With emotionally charged sultry ballads that reach the depths of your soul to the smooth syncopated grooves that make you wanna get up and move, whatever your taste, Kinyanna is sure to capture your hearts.

Born February 5, this Dallas Oak Cliff native discovered her unique voice at the tender age of 5 while singing with her grandmother. Her first major public performance came at the age of 15 when she sang “His Eyes Are on the Sparrow” in front of an audience of five thousand at the National Church of Christ Youth Conference in Atlanta, Georgia. It was at this time that Kinyanna decided to venture out and share with the world her special gift. Influenced by great R&B legends and powerhouses such as Phyllis Hyman, Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu, Kinyanna set out to carve out her own niche in the R&B Music world.

In 2005 Kinyanna signed with Imurj Records, an independent record label based in Dallas, Texas. Shortly thereafter, Kinyanna started performing at various events such as the Firehouse, Sultry Soul Night, the Wine Cellar, Sankofa Arts Kafe,  Brooklyn’s Jazz Café , House of Blues Dallas , The Balcony Club,Heros Lounge, Buttons Cafe . Brickhouse Lounge and many more.  She   is building up a fan  base of  loyal fans that saw and heard something special

In 2009 after a short hiatus from singing and performing and giving birth to her first child, Kinyanna returned to studio and released her first single titled “Yanna’s Groove” followed by a music video shortly thereafter. Having conquered her first ever maxi single release and video, Kinyanna went back into the studio to prepare for her first debut album titled “S to the 4th Power” released in September of 2012.

Rightly titled, "S to the 4th Power," this album truly represents the silky, smooth, seductive soul captured in every song. Musically diverse in its content yet lyrically profound, Kinyanna takes you on a personal journey of emotions ranging from happiness to heartbreak.

Having written many of the songs on the album, Kinyanna welcomed the opportunity to work with other songwriters such as Myeisha Meeks who penned "Presence" and "So Confused" and Morgan Balenton writer of "True Love" and "Reflecting on a Memory." Furthermore, the album contains musical works contributed by Tehran "Psy2ko" Pearson, Valenti Thomas and Morgan Balenton.

Kinyanna came in 2nd place in the Dallas Weekly’s “Best of Black Dallas: Best Neo Soul Act of 2012.”
